Splattered Easter Egg Dyeing (and How to Dye Eggs Regularly)

Welcome to the 3rd Day of my Easter Series.  :)

Today's post is a fun spin on regular Easter egg dying.

Materials:

bowls

warm water

spoons

liquid food coloring

(white distilled) vinegar

hard boiled eggs

Here's how to start:

1. Place your eggs in a saucepan.

2. Put enough water in the pan to completely cover the eggs.

3. Bring water to boil.

4. Once the water is at a rolling boil, turn the heat of and let the eggs sit in the water for 15 minutes.

5. Then take the eggs out and allow them to cool.

6. Fill up bowls with enough water to completely cover eggs. Warm water works best.

7. To make the dye last longer, add a tablespoon of vinegar to each bowl.

8. Add dye to each bowl according to whatever colors you want.

Splatter/Tie-Dye Method:

1. Put down (white, hardboiled) egg in secure spot (don't let it crack).

2. Take extremely small spoonfuls of dyed water and splatter them on the egg.

3. Do step 2 with desired colors. If you get colored fingerprints on the egg, that is ok because it is supposed to look messy.
